  5. Separate the inner foam ring from the outer filter and shell.
  6. Wash both the inner and outer filters with cold water.
  7. The outer filter and shell should be rinsed on all sides and tapped out until the water runs clear, then tapped out again to ensure all excess water is removed.
  8. Leave to dry completely for a minimum of 24 hours.
  9. Refit the filter.
